A FiveM RP server base that's maintained, not just sold

Most FiveM server bases come as a one-off pack: you install them, configure them file by file, and they start going stale the day you buy them. Nova Studio works the other way round. You get a complete FiveM RP server base built on QBox, hosted on our machines, updated by us and configured from inside the game, without ever opening a file.

01What a FiveM server base actually is

A server base is the foundation of a roleplay server: a framework (ESX, QBCore or QBox) plus the resources that bring a city to life, such as inventory, phone, jobs, police, banking and vehicles. Without one, a FiveM server is just an empty map with nothing for players to do.

Most bases are sold once, as an archive. After that it is on you to find a machine, install everything, tune each script in its config files, then keep up with FiveM and every resource as they change. The purchase price is only the beginning: the real cost of running a server shows over twelve months, maintenance time included.

The framework matters too. ESX is the oldest and still has the largest script library. QBox grew out of QBCore and can run many scripts written for it. Nova is built on QBox, and the ESX vs QBCore vs QBox guide explains why.

02A complete QBox server base: what's inside

The Nova base isn't a bundle of scripts picked up here and there. Its 67 modules are written to work together, share the same configuration, and ship and update as one.

  • The QBox core, which can run many scripts written for QBCore.
  • Jobs and institutions: jobs and ranks, a boss office, a public treasury run by a designated job, gangs with a shared fund.
  • Police and justice: MDT, dispatch with automatic alerts, forensic evidence, cuffs, bodycam.
  • Medical, economy, banking, shops and inventory, plus a phone whose apps plug into the city's modules.
  • Vehicles: dealership, keys, fuel, workshop, impound, taxi.
  • The world: properties, furniture, door locks, radio, passages and interiors.
  • Administration: a 40-screen in-game admin panel, a quick staff menu, and a server-side anticheat with graduated sanctions.
  • A Discord bot connected to the server for logs and staff roles, and a Tebex store linked to your city.

03Configured in game, without touching a file

Jobs, ranks, salaries, economy, items, properties and permissions are all set from inside the game by typing /admin. Nothing goes through a file: the in-game admin panel writes to the database, and most settings apply straight away for every connected player.

Your account area handles the rest, meaning the machine itself: player slots, the name shown in the FiveM server list, language, files, databases and backups. Two places, and only two.

04Hosted and updated, not just sold

Your server runs on OVH Game dedicated servers, behind their anti-DDoS tuned for FiveM, with OneSync Infinity and NVMe drives. Once your subscription is paid, you create the server from your account area and it installs itself in a few minutes, with no setup fee.

Nova Studio publishes updates for every server at once, database migrations included. Nothing to download, nothing to merge by hand: a new version applies at the next restart, or on its own as soon as the server is empty, an option that is on by default.

06Your own scripts are still welcome

Your own resources go into the resources/[client] folder from the Files screen of your account area, one by one or as a .zip or .tar.gz archive. They arrive switched off: turn them on, then restart. The documentation walks through each step. The rest of the server, framework included, stays managed by us.

07Launch your server in four steps

  1. Pick a plan on the pricing page and pay for the subscription.
  2. Create the server from My servers: a name, your cfx.re key and your Steam key. Installation takes a few minutes.
  3. Link your Discord account: it is what identifies you in game as the owner.
  4. Start the server, join it from FiveM and type /admin to set up your city. The getting started guide follows the same path.

08How much the Nova base costs

One subscription per server, with hosting, updates and support included: NOVA at €99 a month for 64 players, NOVA+ at €149 a month for 128 players, and NOVA INFINITY at €229 a month for 256 players, which scales up to 1,024 players with extra slots. Yearly billing charges ten months for twelve, and automatic backups start with NOVA+.

Before the first stable version, only the plans that include beta channel access can be bought: the pricing page shows which ones are open today. As with any host, you need your own Cfx key, created on the Cfx.re portal: Nova does not sell it.

Frequently asked questions

What is a FiveM server base?

It is the foundation of a roleplay server: a framework (ESX, QBCore or QBox) and the resources that make a city, such as inventory, phone, jobs or police. Nova provides a complete base, already installed, hosted and kept up to date.

Which framework is the Nova base built on?

QBox, an open source framework that grew out of QBCore. Nova adds 67 modules and an in-game configuration panel, shipped and updated together.

Can I add my own scripts?

Yes. Upload them into the resources/[client] folder from your account area, then test them in game. Most recent scripts written for QBCore or QBox load ox_lib. ox_lib is provided by nova_lib, and no ox_lib folder exists on disk: in the fxmanifest of a script, the @ox_lib/init.lua line must be replaced with @nova_lib/shared/lib_init.lua, or the console shows "Failed to load script". Scripts written for ESX need to be adapted.

Do I need to know how to code to use the Nova base?

No. Jobs, economy, items, properties and permissions are set in game with /admin, and every change shows the players it affects before it is applied.

Do updates kick my players off?

No. A new version applies at the next restart, or on its own once the server is empty if the option is on, which it is by default. No game is cut short for an update.

How many players can a Nova server hold?

64 players on NOVA, 128 on NOVA+ and 256 on NOVA INFINITY, which goes up to 1,024 players with extra slots. A new server opens 10 slots, which you raise from your account area up to your plan limit.

Do I need a Cfx key?

Yes, as for any FiveM server. You create it on the Cfx.re portal and it stays between you and Cfx: Nova does not sell it or bill for it.
