Server configuration

Slots, language, displayed name: what you set from the site.

01What is set here, and what is set in game

The Configuration screen sets what the server reads at startup: slots, listing in the FiveM server list, language, voice, targeting, inventory, pools. Everything about the game, jobs, economy, items, properties, player permissions, is set in game with /admin, never here (configure a FiveM server in game).

The screen has four cards: the update channel, the cfx.re key (for the owner only), the server.cfg settings, and script permissions. The "Search settings" field finds a setting by its name, its convar or a word from its help.

02Slots, name and server listing

"Max Players" sets the number of slots, capped by your plan. A new server opens 10: raise them before inviting your community. As long as the configuration opens fewer slots than your plan pays for, the diagnosis shows it on the server page.

"Server Name" is the name shown in the FiveM server list and while connecting. In the advanced settings, "Project Name" gives the listing's title (empty, the server name is used), "Project Description" its tagline, and "Tags" comma-separated keywords to be found in the list.

The connecting and listing banners are set with an https address or by uploading an image. The server list icon is cropped to a 96 × 96 pixel square: save, then restart to see it in FiveM.

03Language, voice, inventory and pools

"Locale" picks the server language. Nova is complete in French and partial in English; other languages only translate the third-party layer (inventory, QBox core), and Nova then stays in French.

The "Voice", "QBox Framework" and "OX & Inventory" sections set pma-voice, the QBox core, targeting and the inventory: default ranges and keys, radio and calls, inventory slots and weight, zone isolation mode ("Relaxed" is the recommended setting). A default key only applies to a player who never changed it. These three sections each have a "Reset" button, as do "Pools".

"Pools" sets how many elements the game keeps in memory at once. Only raise a pool that saturates, when the console or a player shows "… pool full": every increase costs memory for every player, and Cfx caps each pool.

04Saving, applying, going back

Nothing applies before the next server restart. "Save configuration" opens "Review before saving", which lists every changed field, before and after, and says which ones need a restart. "Save and restart" applies right away; "Save" waits for the next restart.

"History" keeps a version at each save: who, when, which fields, before and after. "Restore" brings a version back, like a save. Access keys never appear in it, and the Steam key keeps its current value. Changing the configuration takes the "Edit configuration" right; without it, the screen is read-only.

05Script permissions

Some scripts need an ACE permission to run a command or read a permission. The "Script permissions" card grants it to a script installed in resources/[client], and to it alone: never to a player or a group. Framework and rank permissions cannot be granted. They apply at the next restart, and changing them takes the "Script permissions" right.

For the cfx.re key and the Steam key, see the cfx.re key; for the stable or beta channel, restarts and updates; for your scripts themselves, adding your own scripts.
