Subscription and invoices
Changing plan, adding extras, finding an invoice.
01The Billing screen
Billing, in your account menu, brings together your subscription (its status and next billing date), plan changes, add-ons, your plan usage, the invoice history and the payment portal, where the payment method is changed. Plans and their prices are on the pricing page.
Before your first payment, the screen asks once for your billing country: it determines who invoices you and under which tax regime. Depending on the country, invoices are issued by Nova Studio, from France, or by Stripe, which then sells the service in its own name and handles the applicable tax. The "Who invoices you" card says which.
02Changing plan
"Change plan" picks the plan and the billing cycle, monthly or yearly (ten months paid for twelve). An upgrade is charged pro rata for the remaining days and collected right away; it applies as soon as the payment goes through. A downgrade costs nothing and refunds nothing: the price drops at your next renewal date. Slot, database and file limits drop right away; the features of the plan stay until renewal. The screen shows what you will pay before you confirm.
A downgrade waits for its date under "Scheduled change", and "Cancel the scheduled change" undoes it without charging anything and restores your limits. Before going down, check that the server fits in the target plan: configured slots, number of databases, space taken by your files, team members. The screen says what blocks and what to remove first; the beta channel goes back to stable at renewal (restarts and updates).
03Add-ons and usage
On NOVA INFINITY, add-ons add slots, databases or space for your files, beyond the plan. An increase is charged pro rata and applies on payment; a decrease lowers the price at renewal, and the limits right away. Add-ons fall away with the plan if you move down to a plan that has none.
The "Usage" card shows what the server uses of its plan. The subscription is fixed: a full gauge costs nothing more, it only stops you from going further, until a plan upgrade or an add-on.
04Invoices and refused payments
"Invoice history" lists every invoice with its status; "View" opens it and "PDF" downloads it. A team member with the Billing role reads this server's subscription and invoices, read-only, without seeing the payment method (inviting your team).
If a payment fails, the subscription becomes "Past due" and a banner offers "Pay the invoice". Without payment, the server is suspended at the end of the grace period: it stops, and the banner says how many days remain before its data is deleted for good. Once the invoice is paid, the suspension is lifted: start the server from its page, it does not restart by itself.
05Cancelling, and changing your mind
"Cancel" asks for an optional reason, then sums up what will happen: the subscription stays active until the end of the paid period, with no charge afterwards. The server then stops, and its files and databases are kept until a date shown on screen, then deleted for good. The screen may first offer a smaller plan, the yearly cycle or a pause for your city.
Until the subscription ends, "Keep my subscription" cancels the cancellation in one click, without charging anything. To keep a copy of your city before the end, download your scripts from the Files screen (adding your own scripts): server backups cannot be downloaded.
