Inviting your team

Giving your managers access, with the right role.

01Who can join your team

A server's Team screen invites other accounts without sharing your password: each member signs in with their own account. The team opens from NOVA+, which gives one seat; NOVA INFINITY does not limit their number (pricing). A pending invitation takes a seat until it is accepted or revoked.

Some things always stay with the owner: paying and changing the plan, cancelling, deleting the server, the cfx.re key, the update channel. And a team member has no rights in game: your city's staff ranks are set in game, with /admin, not from this screen.

02Roles

Viewer: sees the server page, console, files, databases and configuration, without changing anything. Operator: like the viewer, and can start, stop and restart the server, start a backup, upload files and change the configuration. Administrator: like the operator, and manages databases, the team and script permissions.

Billing: sees this server's page, its subscription and its invoices, with no action on the machine, and neither the payment method nor your other servers. The Administrator role does not see billing: that right is given through this role, or box by box.

03Adjusting right by right

A role pre-ticks a grid of rights that "Adjust rights" lets you change: Read console, Power, View files, Edit files, View databases, Manage databases, View configuration, Edit configuration, Script permissions, Manage team, View billing. "View overview" is always granted to a member. A write right brings its read right along, and "Script permissions" brings "View configuration". Greyed-out rights are those you do not hold yourself: nobody gives more than they have.

A few actions take a wider right than you might expect. Deleting or locking a backup, and changing the Schedule, take "Manage databases". Restoring a backup also takes the rights to edit files and configuration, since the restore overwrites them (backups).

04Inviting, resending, removing

In "Invite", enter the email address, choose the role, adjust if needed, then "Send invitation". The link expires in 7 days. It must be accepted with an account opened under the same email address: signed in with another one, the person sees that the invitation is not addressed to them. "Pending invitations" lets you resend or revoke it.

In "Members", "Edit" changes a member's rights and "Remove" cuts all their access at once. Each row shows the member's last recorded action and whether they use two-factor authentication. The server's Activity log says who did what and when, and exports as CSV. On their side, a member finds the server under "Shared with you", and can leave it.

05Requiring two-factor authentication

"Require two-factor authentication" refuses access to the server to any member who has not turned on two-factor authentication, until they turn it on in Settings. You, the owner, are not subject to this rule, but turn it on for your account too. For a team that touches files or databases, it is the first setting to apply.

06Transferring ownership

"Transfer ownership" hands the server and its subscription over to a team member. They accept with their own payment method, and the server passes to their name when your subscription period ends: no interruption, no double payment, no refund. Backups taken before the transfer can no longer be restored from the account area. For billing itself, see subscription and invoices.
